BCSA Skateboard contest

On saturday the 4th the Benton County Skate Alliance had a skateboard competition to raise money for a new skate park. The weather was predicted for rain all day but somehow the rain gods opened up to let the whole park stay dry with only a few little drizzles that were eventually swept away by the B.C.S.A.'s Vaughn Baulzer.
The event went on from noon to about 5pm with many prizes given away to the skaters and free barbecue for all. The turn out was good, about 30 to 40 skaters and about two dozen spectators, ranging from infants to homeless people. It was good times for everyone.
"This is rad, but i wish a few more people would have showed up...but hey i cant complain the weather cooperated and everything worked out great." remarks B.C.S.A. member Corby Deglow about the event.
The B.C.S.A. plans on having more fundraisers in the future and hopefully have progress of a new park started by late spring of 09'. See their link above for any more information.

Man Colin im really glad to see such a positive environment on the sports side of things. I would like to see more fundraisers for this type of thing and hopefully an expansion will be made in the near future.
